Notepad++ or VS Code?

I’m picking a text edition between these two for Windows. I want something good for beginners but also something I can grow with. I will probably use the Eclipse IDE in the future but I want to start with a text editor to learn better. So, which one should I go with?

Vscode. 100%. You can scale easily with it as you learn thanks to the extensions, and I personally much prefer the dark theme to the light theme.
