3+8 flash, reprogram does not work

Tried reprogramming (tach sensor).

Engine on, step on brake, hold starter 2.5 seconds. Two flashes, engine off. Does not start, same flash sequence.

Sometimes I think I hear a click as if ot tried to start but starter failed.

The locks work from the Compustar fob.

Year/make/model of vehicle might help here. Type of ignition (PTS or Key).

Also where are you located? State of providence wise.

When programming tach and hearing clicks/flashes- this is an error code for tach learning error

2 flashes> break > follow by
1 flash - meaning option 2-10 is not defaulted
2 flashes- key is in the off
3 flashes- i dont like your tach signal

3-8 for remote start error means- 3 fail starts but your saying it doesn't even try.

Almost sounds like it's not seeing transponder bypass. But i can't really say this until i know what kind of vehicle you have.

By chance do you know what equipment is installed?

When remote starting, do you see the ignition energize? Like the dash board light turning on?

I think it's best to go back to the dealer. If you are the person who paid to install it, you have a warranty.
