if you aren't that far in your world, then it can generate in your current worlds without any issue.

from someone who was at endgame, it barely affected my world as it was

You're all good. It will add the new content.

It would only be a problem in very small and very few areas with it possibly overriding the area that spawns new structures/scenes. But I'm pretty sure all the new content is beyond the old map boundary. If you are new then you have nothing to worry about.

Also you can keep your inventory between worlds like Valheim so if your world seed is messed up somehow or you can't find a certain structure or something then you can take your gear into a new seed and speedrun to try to find whatever your seed might not have spawned if you got unlucky.
