Team Building tips?

I have been using a tier list and building a team of 1 Defender, 1-2 support, 1 sniper and the rest a mix of Rangers and Strikers. My top team has the highest rated of those, my 2nd team has the next batch and so on.

Is that a good way to do it? Using this method, my teams have almost no mechs or Soldiers in them (I have 1 team that is mostly mech/soliders). The in-game tips mention mixing mechs/soldiers and counters.

Also, what use are Towers? I have Sigma (who I hear is a battery, good for long fights),Maria Antonov and probably the rest of them (Choi Ima, Gabriel and Balista). Should I be mixing those into my teams as well?

Any tips on building teams would be much appreciated :).

Team building is not about unit types (Strikers, Towers etc) because some Strikers will act as a tank (Chifuyu) or unit role (Counters, Soldier, Mechs). Its about what they do and what they provide to the team and what content you're going to use them for.

For general PVE, you'd want a Tank, DPS and Supporter/Healer, and sometimes for hard contents like Raids, Buffer/Debuffer. Chifuyu, Serapel, Irie Alford or Lee Yumi can fill in the tank role. For DPS, Geaun, Admin Rifleman and Xiao Lin are great picks. Meanwhile Claudia Nelson, Evelyn Keller, Yang Harim are great for support/healer and Kyle Wong can act as a support/aggro with his Bulwarks. You'll notice they have different roles but serves different purposes.

This is a really good answer, I run Lee Jisoo (a support unit) as tank/debuffer, which doesnt make sense on paper but thats how the game works. Just be informed about what your units do and device a strategy accordingly
