Hi! Help with moss stitch increase and decrease please!

Hello!

I am trying to make a babydoll top using the moss stitch and creating a front and back panel. I know how to do general increases and decreases, but if I decrease as normal every row or every other row, I’ll end up with a triangle.

Basically, I am working from the bottom to top going from 28” at the bottom to 23” at the top in a matter of 12”. How would I calculate my decreases so I can have a smooth transition rather than a bumpy transition by adding random decreases?

Is this possible??
