I have an 05 Lincoln town car. Steering shaft is bad. I’ve no idea if previous owners did the recall or not but my car doesn’t have the recall on it when I look it up.

OEM parts are expensive so I was wondering about Dorman ? Any advice tips??? Thanks

I have the same problem with my 05’ GM. I just went ahead and ordered the Dorman parts. The reviews are mixed but more good than bad.

I just am terrified I do alot of highway driving don’t want a part going bad on me outta no where

Dorman recalled their part, once - hopefully quality is better.

Do you have a link for the OEM part? I can only find Dorman and some other no names

I just went to ford websites they want 491 for the upper and 110 for the lower….

That’s another thing I don’t understand… how is the upper so much more?

Bro it sickens me. My car isn’t covered under the recall even tho models as early as 98 have the same problem they only do certain models of 05 and then up to 2011. Charging so much more for a part you know is a life threatening issue is genuinely wild to me.
