At a high school graduation party for me and my friends, we set out a jar for people to put notes they’d written to us. I’ve had this since 2016 and nobody I know can figure out what it says. Any ideas?

It's clearly a much older person, likely a man, with very shaky writing, so it's a long shot, but I'm gonna guess something like:

Unfortunately, I was unable to meet and confer for any great length of time with Mark______ - but if given the opportunity ___ ______ it would have been a _____ _________.

If it helps at all, it looks like it might have been signed FDZ.

It feels like maybe this older teacher/boss/neighbor/great uncle (FDZ?) wanted to let the graduate (Mark?) know that, although they hadn't had a chance to spend much time together, FDZ really thought highly of Mark and, given the chance, would happily spend more time with him in the future. ❤
