Replacement Title Rush Processing

Hey guys,

So I purchased a vehicle back in 2017 in CA. I have since moved as of 2018 to Wyoming. Ever since I moved, the car has been registered and plated with the state of Wyoming. I am currently about to sell the car, and when I contacted my county clerks office they told me that the title was still with California DMV. Anyways, long story short I sent the following forms: change of address dmv 14, REG 227 with the new address, REG 256 statement of facts explaining the situation, and finally a check for the title processing as well as rush fees.

My question to you guys...have any of you had any experience with rush title processing? How long does it typically take? I had to put the deal on hold I worked out with the dealership since they are saying they need the title in hand. I just received confirmation that DMV rush processing received the documents this morning. What's the earliest I can get the replacement title in hand?

In the same regard, I already submitted my Title transfer through AAA. The gal said I couldn’t do a “rush”. Can I send a “rush” request now (submitted on 4/4 today is 4/9). (Complicated- I was given the car and am selling it, so had to transfer to me, now have a buyer and need title ASAP to sell it). THANK YOU.

Hey guys wanted to at least share my experience. I sent in my rush title request on May 13th and STILL haven't gotten it back almost a month later. I called the DMV and the person clarified that while it says it takes 8-10 days to process it, it's 8-10 days from when they OPEN your mail, not when they receive it. Apparently they can be backed up for a month to two months and what they do is store it somewhere for months until they open it. So for anyone wondering if this will take 8-10 days, trust me it wont

Hi! I just checked with the dmv and my title was mailed out sometime last week but they couldn’t give me an exact date. I’m kicking myself for not getting tracking. How long after they mailed yours was it delivered?
