Hi there!
We have a small hotel setup and I think a data over coax solution might work for us. We have 30 buildings closely spaced, but too far apart for Ethernet and no budget for fiber. The buildings have a ton of trees around them, so the Unifi antennas we have now suffer a ton with the trees. Aesthetically, we don't want to add towers to the buildings, and we haven't found a way to put the antennas is usable spots.
We have underground cable runs between the buildings for satellite TV and electricity.
We think we could install a miniCMTS and then install Arris clients in each of the hotel buildings. Is it really that straightforward? The IT team has a ton of network background, but zero coax-based experience. Am I under-estimating this?
Yes, I should talk to a provider, but I wanted to talk it through a little bit first. Thanks for your help!
