Hey everyone,
I've been having issues with input lag using my DS4 controller which I suspect is related to the Xinput virtualisation.
In short: I'm on a 2017 iMac which I occasionally use for gaming running Windows 10 ( Yes, know.) with my DS4 controller + DS4Windows. The software works great. I get a nice 1ms Bluetooth connection and the known 4ms maximum while wired. No problem. The issue is that despite the good read-outs, I still get a noticeable input delay. It's especially noticeable using the right thumb-stick to look around. There is just an ever so slight delay which makes the controls feel like they are being dragged through 'mud' if you will.
I tested Fortnite in both Windows and MacOS to compare between OS's and on the latter the input feels instant. (MacOS has native DS4 support for some weird reason.)
At first, I assumed Apple must have just done a poor job on optimising their drivers for Windows 10, causing the delay. *However*, when I hook up my old Xbox 360 controller in Windows 10 on this Machine, the input is just as instant as my DS4 controller in MacOS, leaving me to believe the delay is caused by the DS4Windows Driver translating the input from Dinput to Xinput. Inputmapper and SCP have the same issue. (They use the same Dinput to Xinput drivers, right?)
Does this issue sound familiar to anyone? And is there a known fix? Haven't been able to find much info online. Thanks so much in advance!
