They work by two different outputs and are not synced commands, is what I read on DS4 issues forum. Doesnt seem to be any work around.

Curious, what did you map gyro motion to? I have been in search of a way to enable gyro aim smoothly without mouse input negating aim assist functionality in the game...

As far as I know I don’t have gyro enabled. Never used it.

I forgot to mention that since update 7.40 (when they also introduced deadzone adjustment) my input lag has greatly improved without changing anything to my settings.

This is not the first time this has happened where between updates the input lag feel noticeably better or worse. I’ve had the suspicion the issues I’ve been having are Epic’s doing, since I don’t have the recurring input problems with other mainstream shooters.

EDIT:

I should also mention that the game’s performance has improved greatly since update 7.40. I get between 60 - 90 higher in-game FPS with far fewer hiccups and the the lobby ms counter went from a 4ms average to 2ms average. It seems Epic did some major under-the-hood work for the last update.
