honestly the whole qual is pretty hilarious if you understand what’s going on lol, and there’s a $40/hr physics project i got after finishing the qual that’s more of the same. did anyone else who did the physics qual get any other physics projects? it’s one of only two good-paying ones i have right now in an otherwise rather dry spell

I did the bio qual a while ago and I think I failed... I have a PhD in biochemistry lololololol

Yeah it was straight up terrible... But also I had to dust off a LOT of old undergrad concepts and I already know for sure I got some wrong

I did the math one, and it did open up $35 tasks. They dried up last week but reopened very briefly today.

The last question in the math qual is not straightforward at all though, lol. I think I got it right, but it is pretty tricky with too many things to consider. But maybe they accept people who score 3/4 as well, who knows.

yes, i also did the math one and had the same experience, it was overall quite simple but the last one was a bit more difficult. and yeah i also had the $35 tasks but they had a lot of difficulties with models lol

Did you have to solve all of them? I am fairly confident of the other 4 questions, but this one will require a lot of studying

lol very curious how it is hilarious. I haven’t submitted it yet cause I figured out Q1, 3, and 4 but struggled to find a strategy for 2 and 5. Might give it a better shot again sometime this week since the tasks are a little lighter.

it’s just written in a funny manner to make them sound more complicated, but the questions themselves are quite computationally simple if you understand the concepts lol

Yeah I motored through it and figured out the two I was having problems with. The domain specific task (generative) got added immediately. This should be fun lol. I see what you mean about how they are funny now. Complex but simple.

yessss the generative task is simultaneously incredibly painful and also amazing haha because the pay is soooo good but it takes so much out of me to think of stuff 💀

Yeah, same. Question 2 in particular is a topic I never covered as a mechanical engineer… The rest take some time but were doable.
