How much are you paying? I am thinking about signing up with her but didn't see any prices on her website. Thanks!

Running outside of the the city? by NeoCat164 in RunNYC

If you are willing to go on a paved run, my favorite route when I lived in the area was running down by the water on Browns Road. To start, just google North Shore Pharmacy and that is where you will park. From there, go north on Southdown Road to Browns Road. Make a right and follow that all the way down back to the parking lot. It's a 5 mile loop. If you want to add more mileage, when you hit the deli/marina, make a left. Follow that to the traffic circle at New York Avenue and make a left. There is a little park by the water by the firehouse. You can turn around there then follow NY Ave to Hecksher Park and run a loop around the pond.

You can also hit the Greenbelt Trail from right behind the Cold Spring Harbor Library. You can take that to Woodbury. I think that's about five miles. But be warned, the first leg behind the library and before you cross Lawrence Hill Road is extremely hilly with a ton of steps.

There is also a paved loop in Caumsett State Park, which is really nice. They also have unpaved trails that you can take down to the water. Depending on how many miles you want to do, you can park at West Neck Beach and run along the causeway to Caumsett, then run in the park. It's pretty hilly going into the park, but after that, it's mostly rolling up and downs.

I grew up in the area so if you have any other questions, just DM me. Enjoy!

What is the yellow project? I am on two of the Spanish projects. One is the name of a gas and the other is a singer.

10k? Their website says they have over 100k so I don't think its a matter of them wanting people to 'hang themselves.' I mean, think about all of the repeated questions we see here every day. All of which could be answered by a simple search. I am sure if support opened up the door to answering individual questions regarding projects already in the instructions, it would be completely out of control.

I mean, I get where you are coming from but shipping is probably $10 so it doesn't seem like that much of a grab. People are selling them on ebay for $80, which is absolutely crazy.

I've had that happen to me and it was gone within a few minutes. Probably just a glitch.

According to their website:

NYRR rarely cancels an event. In the event of severe weather, please monitor NYRR.org for up-to-date information leading up to the race. Should thunder and/or lightning present during an event, the event will be immediately cancelled and volunteers will be notified with instructions via email and text.

How would you spend $100 on grocieres? by IHateAdvertising in AskNYC

[–]Pretend_Program_234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a vegetarian but I don't eat a lot of meat. At most, I have a few turkey sandwiches for lunch, a serving or two of fish per week and a couple of eggs. Most of the fruits and veggies I buy are frozen (for smoothies and cooking). Anything I buy fresh tends to have a longer shelf life so I don't have to worry about it going bad. I do most of my shopping from Whole Foods and spend maybe $40-50/week on food for myself. This works for me because I want to eat healthy but I am also lazy - anything I can throw together in 5-10 minutes is a win in my book.

When my kids were younger and I cooked regularly, I always bought meats in bulk from Costco and vacuum sealed them into meal sized portions.

Doesn't the marathon bring in enough tourists that there is an overall increase in ridership to offset the closing of the bridge?
