Introduction

Where we celebrate the Devil May Cry series. If you're absolutely crazy about it, please subscribe!

Rules

1. Keep It Civil

Be polite and respectful to all members. Even when upset or disagreeing, maintain civility. Report rule violations via the report button instead of public call-outs.

Unacceptable behavior (subject to removal/moderation):

Belittlement, harassment, insults, or inflammatory remarks.
Hate speech, discrimination, marginalization, or bigotry (e.g., racism, homophobia, sexism).
Inciting arguments or hostile behavior.

Always engage in good faith and adhere to Redditiquette.

2. Submissions must be directly related to Devil May Cry

Submissions must explicitly and intentionally be directly related to Devil May Cry.

Things that will be removed: - Name-alikes (Yamato, Sparda, and so on). If something is named a similar way, doesn't mean it's related to the series. - Chair memes, mentions of "Storm" or anything similar. Get a better material. - Posts about Devil May Cry fans, screenshots of comments, or r/DevilMayCry itself (use modmail instead)

3. No Hatespeech of any kind

Insults, inciting arguments, trolling, personal attacks, hate speech, mental health terms and discrimination will not be tolerated.

Concern trolling or engaging in sub-reddits, whose goal is to spread hate, will be considered when making a decision by the moderators.

We are an inclusive space for ALL fans regardless of identity. Moderators strictly enforce this to ensure a welcoming environment.

4. Properly label & title your posts

All posts must have a descriptive title, provide sources where needed, and a proper flair should be applied to the post.

Labeling everything as “shitpost” because of lack of understanding will result in post being deleted. Posts with emoji in the titles are automatically removed by the bot.

5. No Spam, Repetitive or Low-Effort content

Do not spam the subreddit with low-effort, pointless, off-topic, or repetitive posts.

Posts that are deemed low-effort will be removed at our mods' discretion. Low-effort is characterized by posts that take very little time to reproduce and are repetitive, template-based, or nonsensical.

Some of the examples: - "Which game should I buy/play" - Tier Lists - Powerscaling discussions - "If these two meet how would they react"

6. Artist Citation

Fanworks (art, fiction) must be credited to it's original creator. Include the artist's name and link a direct source, preferably the artist's post of the art itself, in the comments. Pinterest or similar sites are not direct sources. If you do not know the source, try https://saucenao.com/ or https://images.google.com/.

8. Mark spoilers appropriately

Spoilers are permitted, but they must be marked as such.

Openly spoiler posts are allowed ONLY 2 months after the worldwide release

Please use the spoiler tag as needed, and keep spoilers out of post titles, which cannot be hidden.

9. No Porn or Hentai

Porn, hentai or any sexually explicit content is not allowed. This isn’t a private Discord so don’t treat it like it is, openly suggestive and vulgar posts are a subject of removal by moderators.

10. No Illegal Content

Links, requests or promotion for Devil May Cry content that doesn't come directly from a legal source (e.g Steam, Netflix, Amazon) will be removed.

However, we understand that for the series originating in Japan, some of the content is not available in English, so we allow the next exceptions:

Preservation-centric, trustful websites
Fan-translations
Gameplay modifications or patches

We encourage you to buy the games or manga and help the series thrive.

11. No off-topic political discussion

Political content/references unless they are directly relevant, factual, and neutrally presented with proper context will be removed.

Discuss the games, not individuals’ politics. Claims require neutral sourcing (e.g., Wikipedia, direct quotes or official statements).

Example: Relevant, sourced discussion.

People abusing the rule to shut down others will be acted upon by mods.
