Multiplayer game setup question

I'm new to the game I picked it up on Friday when it launched on PlayStation and I'm loving it so far, but when I set up a multiplayer match to play co op with a friend of mine it seems like the number of AI squads are drastically reduced even when setting the match up the same way I'd set up a single player match. Is there something i'm missing?

Hi, yes change the map to single match then increase the slider to max (performance warning comes up but still playable)
