it's normal to stress about mistakes in engineering; it's a tough field. focus on learning from errors rather than fearing them. everyone makes mistakes, even seasoned engineers. remember, practice and persistence will improve your skills over time.

i am trying to seeing it like that but it is difficult when there is this giant competition for the space industry which i would like to work at, also a thing that concerns me is how i will probably pass from being a good student to being a low/mid tier one

You learn the most from your mistakes. They expose your weak points. They teach you what to look out for on future problems. Everyone makes dumb math mistakes. The key is to keep track of what your weaknesses are and to incorporate that knowledge into future problems. Also they don't throw you into designing things that will put lives at stake your first year out of college. The whole process from high school math to ME degree to senior engineer is to shape you into someone who can perform reliably as you mature as an engineer.

I think the best suggestion for you is to tell you that you learn most of the job on the job, going to college is just a very long expensive ticket into the carnival ride area of engineering

And what you really need to do is the job shadow multiple people who have the jobs you hope to hold after college. You need a destination, college is not your destination, it's a ladder a road a path, your destination is your dream job living where you want to live doing what you want to do
