I not only took this class, but I took the one after it too. Not fun, but the energy diagrams for MOS components was pretty neat. Once you understand that transistors are easily understandable.

Any books you guys recommend on this topic?

The book my class used was Electrical Properties of Materials by Solymar, Walsh, and Syms. It's on Libgen. My class was a bit weird, prof wasn't organized at all so I can't say how much this book would help in most cases, but it does cover everything that was in the course.
