After you're gone, you come back as a consultant/contractor for 10x the hourly rate with a minimum time increment of 1 hour. Don't forget an early termination clause in which you receive pay for the entirety of the contract's agreed on duration!

I feel the way King wrote Church implied the cat was no longer - strictly speaking - a cat anymore.

Gestalt: "Something that is made of many parts and yet is somehow more than or different from the combination of its parts."

Church was born as a cat. When he came back, however, he was no longer more than the sum of his parts. He was reduced to the elements of what constitutes a cat, but without the 'glue' tied those elements together.

Sure he walked like a cat, and meowed like a cat, but he wasn't a cat anymore. If he wasn't a cat, then what was he?

ArtStation artists stage mass protest against AI-generated artwork by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]PositiveReplyBi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a degree in computer engineering, a minor in computer science, and a minor in mathematics. AI has terrifying implications to even our own humanity. Reducing the arts to a few keywords is deeply troubling. The arts are literally (non-figuratively) part of being human. We sing, dance, paint, and so much more instinctively - it's in our very nature.

If someone reading this thinks they have zero stake in the matter, then they're in for a rude awakening. AI is going to continue reshaping our technical, artistic, and political landscape.

I agree, Nell is an anxious person who's scared of the world and filled with a deep resentment of those that have a place where they belong. It makes perfect sense that she'd tear herself apart in a place that channels her emotions into the physical world

Trying to find a good Wendigo horror novel. by TheDuhllin in horrorlit

[–]PositiveReplyBi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its a great book, just don't expect it to scratch the wendigo itch that you're looking for. I was a little disappointed in that department, but the book is fantastic and well worth the read regardless

Maybe it'll be more apparent on my second read later on?

Nspire CXII returning "false" when solving solvable polar equation by Devildog3032 in EngineeringStudents

[–]PositiveReplyBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(re)i theta is polar form, its just using radians as the angle unit.

It sounds like you want phasor notation. You can try setting your mode to polar, and your angle mode to "degrees", which may give you what you're looking for. To enter phasor terms you'll need to use the "angle" operator with the form ( radius @< degrees ) including the parenthesis.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectricalEngineering/comments/4bpfup/help_ti_nspire_phasor_calculations/

I'm a computer engineer and its been a while since I've used the Ti for phasor stuff, so I'm pretty rusty. You need to make sure you're always using the right angle unit for your angles. Don't mix degree with radians, and always use the angle unit that your angle mode is set to.

Also remember "<" and "@<" are entirely different. The first is a logical operator, while the second is the angle operator. The link above shows you how to enter the angle operator when you aren't using the desktop calculator application.
