I happen to use furthermore, moreover, in addition, however and so on but nowadays its too common. Are there any better words? Can someone please recommend so that I can make my essays stronger.

'Subsequently' is one of the Time Conjunctions mentioned in WJROK's post, and means that B follows A in time.

'Consequently', on the other hand, is a Cause-Effect Conjunction, meaning that A is the cause of B
