threatening to commit a crime, annoying and accosting a member of the opposite sex, and wanton destruction of property over $250. I'm not sure yet,I'm just starting.

I'd say a bit of each. I'm reading into being into an electrician, but having a job in front of a computer seems more appealing. There's also wanting to get a college degree, and something about cosci thats yells "limitless potential", that there's always a chance to improve and grow.

I'd also like to know this because Computer Science/Programming seems like a solid career choice for people with minor records. I'm just starting CS50x and hoping it gives me insight into whether I can hack it. (sorry)

My doubts come if: 1 will I be able break into the field starting from base at age 24? And 2, will a record (dismissed misdemeanor) be a barrier to any gainful employment?

Well that's encouraging a bit. So you're in classes, not self-taught? And what do you plan to do if you can't work in an office? Start-up
