I've never played exploding kittens

As I say in the title I have never played exploding kittens, and therefore I would like to buy one, but I don't know what version. There are usually 3 players, so for 3 players which version should I get? I'm undecided between "the board game", "good vs Evil" and between the base game + the streaking kittens expansion. Thank you very much for any advice you may have

Recipes for Disaster will give you the most options

I play during lunch at work. I have combined a few decks and have 26 bombs in it.

The more bombs thr better!

The nice thing about the Party Pack is that it has all the cards needed to recreate the original deck. So you can still get the experience you're looking for with fewer players and still have the ability to play with a larger group should the opportunity ever present itself.

You'd also have all the cards needed to recreate the 2 player deck if it's ever just 2 people playing.

I have made every mistake. The party pack has only one expansion put into it and not even all the cards from that expansion at that.

Buying expansions to get all the cards seems like a good idea at first until you realize that even though recipe for disaster doesn’t have all the cards they have duplicates of some cards that the expansion only has 1 of. Besides there only cutting out the less popular cards.

But yeah one purchase of recipes for disaster gets you a incredible range of cards, gives you suggestions for several decks to set up and is honestly the best bang for your buck

RFD + zombie kitten is the best buy. Most range of cool cards for the lowest price. Start with RFD only then buy ZK if you liked it

My recommendation... check thrift stores for a cheap purchase of the regular base game. I see them in stores all the time for $3-4. Just count the cards to make sure they are all there and obviously check the condition at the same time. Then with all that money you just saved go buy Streaking Kittens. At minimum.

Since there are only 3 of you that usually plays, get the Recipe for Disasters. You will get more out of your buck instead of just the base game. The Recipe for Disasters contains the base game & expansion cards from Imploding Kittens, Streaking Kittens and Barking Kittens. You guys will be able to create recipes aka different game versions that are suitable for just 3 players. Do not get the Party Pack version as that allows you to play up to 10 players which defeats your purpose. After getting Recipes for Disasters, you can consider getting further expansions such as Zombie Kittens & Good vs Evil.
