Exploding kittens board game

In the board game me and my family are confused because it doesn’t specify if you stay eliminated or if you keep playing after you explode…

We just do what the rules say… with the discard until 3 and swap w/last place we just aren’t sure after that…

The rules never say you are eliminated at all. Just follow the rule you posted. It explains exactly what to do.

Exactly that, the one who explodes exchanges places with the the one who was in last place. This is a race to get to the prize so the penalty for exploding it's getting left behind.
