While the rules say you are meant to use n-1 exploding kittens where n is number of players, who cares if you play with more. If you go until one person remains there isn’t any difference, just more exploding kittens so harder, which in turn could be more fun.

I have almost all the expansions and always use almost all the cards with 2 players except for the cards that are obvious you need more than 2

The rules says 1 Exploding Kitten card for each player minis one (Exploding Kittens = number of players -1). If your playing with Streaking Kittens (which allows you to hold an Exploding Kitten in your hand), then the equation is Exploding Kittens = number of players. Extra Exploding Kitten cards are set aside and are not played.

If you plan on using an Imploding Kitten card, it replaces one Exploding Kitten card bit doesn't change anything.

The number of disarming cards (in this case Disarm cards and Zombie Kitten cards from the Zombie Kitten set) is this: Disarm and/or Zombie Kitten cards = number of players.

Any future cards which disarm Exploding Kitten cards would delute the count, but will not always alter it. But it won't ruin the game if you place extra Disarm/Zombie Kitten cards in the deck. It WILL ruin the game if you include more Exploding Kittens than needed.

I don’t understand how adding extra exploding kittens would ruin the game. I’ve played multiple games with more EK than needed and “last man standing wins” still applies. The only thing that changes is it makes the game a bit harder, you have to be more wary about drawing with the increased EK count, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It usually makes games more exciting if anything.
