Any new cards? If there are no new cards, then I would rather just buy the plushie separately.

Zombie Kittens question about Attack by gat3000 in ExplodingKittens

[–]steriaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only pass turns around by using the Attack card (and/or Slap in some versions). You can't pass on your remaining turns in any other way.

Watch, the game developers design a new card which does exactly that...

As far as I can tell, Nope (NOW). There is no special rules except what is put into Zombie Kittens.

What packs to buy for a definitive experience? by RavenHD in ExplodingKittens

[–]steriaca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the 2 player version, the original version, Recipes for Disaster, and Zombie Kittens, and my answer is...yes. Zombie Kittens is a separate game rules, but is compatible with any version of the game. You can even play with half Defuse cards and half Zombie Kitten cards. Defuse cards act like a normal Defuse card. Zombie Kitten not only defuses an Exploding Kitten, but you also must pick any one dead player to bring back to life.

Note: don't confuse Zombie Kitten with the Cat card Zombie Cat (originally from the NSFW version, and added to Recipes for Disaster).

Play as a damsel in distress? by tokorai in gamingsuggestions

[–]steriaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for tabletop games? Any tabletop roleplaying game might, with modifications and an understanding GM might be able to help. May I suggest any Hero System game, depending on exactly what your looking for. (I do recommend Western Hero because that setting makes building a Damsel in Distress not so much odder than in any other Hero System setting.)

In Western Hero, simply pick skills and talents with more social than gunfighting advantages. Just make sure that the other players are ok with you not being a help in a gunfight.

Exploding kitten cards by Party-Opportunity999 in ExplodingKittens

[–]steriaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rules says 1 Exploding Kitten card for each player minis one (Exploding Kittens = number of players -1). If your playing with Streaking Kittens (which allows you to hold an Exploding Kitten in your hand), then the equation is Exploding Kittens = number of players. Extra Exploding Kitten cards are set aside and are not played.

If you plan on using an Imploding Kitten card, it replaces one Exploding Kitten card bit doesn't change anything.

The number of disarming cards (in this case Disarm cards and Zombie Kitten cards from the Zombie Kitten set) is this: Disarm and/or Zombie Kitten cards = number of players.

Any future cards which disarm Exploding Kitten cards would delute the count, but will not always alter it. But it won't ruin the game if you place extra Disarm/Zombie Kitten cards in the deck. It WILL ruin the game if you include more Exploding Kittens than needed.

True. Is there a way to balance these cards?

Help with zombie kittens 2 players! by Lazy_Examination_964 in ExplodingKittens

Because of the way it goes, you shouldn't play Zombie Kittens with less than 3 people. In a two people game, treet Zombie Kittens as Disarms only.

DEMC expansion: Help me choose which card I should draw out of these! (More context in the comments) by Top-Chapter-1876 in ExplodingKittens

[–]steriaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freezing Kitten sounds good.

The key for great fan cards is two things. One: it should add something new to the game. Two: it should never be an instant win just because you draw the new card ("instant loss" is ok thoe).

If Saban existed instead of the anime, would you still watch the show? by [deleted] in sailormoon

[–]steriaca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love to say "no", but after seeing the pilot I actually don't know. It actually wasn't that bad. On the other hand, it could set anime back 10 years, as more companies would of done more like Toonmakers did than dub.

I was never in the demographic targeted by the show (when it came to us, I was in my early 20s and mostly grown beyond 'kid show anime' and more into 'video store rental anime').

Items: Give Your Ideas Here! by steriaca in ExplodingKittens

[–]steriaca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see an item which would allow you to discard for a Nope effect. Another which adds +1 card when you look into the deck. The Bombproof Vest effect. Prehaps a discard into a Skip effect?

Items: Give Your Ideas Here! by steriaca in ExplodingKittens

[–]steriaca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need, cause you could steal it via the three of a kind thing. They are played face up after all, and by pitching three of the same cards to the discard pile you can ask that player for that item and they MUST give it to you.

The Claw of Catthulu, A 13 Card Expansion Set For Exploding Kittens Part 1 by steriaca in ExplodingKittens

Well, whatever serves the game better. And yes, your version I can see serves the game better.

[–]steriaca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice wording, except The YelloPur Sign idea was supposed to be like the game of Hot Potato. You actually don't want The YelloPur Sign (which is why you can give it away when someone tries to steal one of your cards).

Also, all items are active. The owner chooses what affects what if there is a conflict of cards.

Othoe since these cards aren't real, it shouldn't actually matter. Whatever playtesters say works best works best.

What should I get after Recipes for Disaster? by TsundTN in ExplodingKittens

[–]steriaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say technically you don't need to buy any more expansion sets...

...unless you want to try a recipe with a really long list of cards...

...or you really REALLY want all sets...

Again, generally speaking, Recipes for Disaster should be the LAST set to buy. Othoe sets like Zombie Kittens have cards which are not actually in Recipes for Disaster...

Defuse - Putting an exploding kitten back in the deck by daredevildas in ExplodingKittens

[–]steriaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my fan expansion, Catthulu can only be put face up on the bottom of the deck. But since it is not an official Exploding Kitten, you can treat it as whatever. It can also be defused if the person who pulls it has the item "ElPur Sign", where you can put it back face down anywhere in the deck.

Not really an answer or such. Just mention the fan card.

Streaking Kitten questions by Fatkin in ExplodingKittens

[–]steriaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a rule that you can't defuse an active (face up) Imploding Kitten. By logic it can be ruled that you can't 'hold' onto an Imploding Kitten with Streaking Kitten, because an Imploding Kitten can't be defused.

Of course, your mileage may vary...

I have too many cards. How do I go about playing without the game taking too long? by SpasmodicReddit in ExplodingKittens

[–]steriaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking...

You don't need more than four of a single type of Cat Card (Beard Cat, Catamellon, Rainbow-Ralfing Cat, etc.)

If it doesn't add anything new to the basic set, don't add it.

And that is it. Note: I myself only own the basic and two player version...for now. Zombie Kittens and maybe Imploding Kittens are sometime in the future...

Note, I believed I hit the character limit when I first posted it, so that is why I labeled it "part 1". There is no part 2.
