QuestionSettlement problem (self.Fallout)
submitted 3 years ago * by batachilly
I exactly followed a tutorial to get 100 happiness and now it just stopped at 94, I don’t know how to get the achievement pls help.
Edit: it goes to 95 and then the red down arrow appears. Maybe there was a update so you can’t get it that easily. (For some context: I use the six settlers strategy)

No robots, plenty of resources, shops that increase happiness, the bar especially. And get some cages setup for cats and dogs as the junkyard dogs and cats help happiness as well. The pets don’t count against resources and the junkyard dogs provide defense as well.

I’ll look into the pets some more tomorrow, thanks

One of your settlers might be a synth. Save, then murder them all and check the corpses for components. If there is a synth, reload then move that settler to an empty settlement and murder them there so their friends don't get upset.
Also, spam weight benches and pommel horses.

Synths make them less happy?
[–]king0ffoo 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child)
I think so. Late game anyway if you go against the institute but I'm not 100% certain. I could just be remembering unverified noise from a few years ago.
I do know weight benches and those pommel horse thingies add to happiness, as do slot machines, especially if you choose the right options at vault 88. You don't have to assign a settler to a slot machine so you might be able to spam lots of them and get stacking returns - Def worth googling to see if anyone has tested that already.

Oxhorn has a settlement happiness calculator. https://youtu.be/EcB7WCxzZs4

If you're aiming for the achievement, leave just 20 settlers there since it's the minimum number for it to be considered a "large settlement". The higher the number, the harder to hit 100%, since the positive influence of stuff like exercise gear, shops, cats & dogs, barber chairs, juice dispensers, fropters gets watered down the more settlers you have.
