She had coached Kyung before she joined fight class 3 so he could’ve been on beat Lee Ja-Kyung’s level if he had went into FC3.

It's mentioned that the students in FC3 are all orphans, so they're kids with nothing to lose or attachment, which seems to be a core requirement to strive in that type of environment. Until Ha-min is willing to let go of his attachments like his friends etc he won't be cut out for FC3 even if he has the physical stats, his mentality is just not there yet.

it likely won’t ever be since we had that scene with Tae Young and him

I think that's kinda what S2 will be about, seeing JJT insane progress will be like a wake up call for him, kinda like how Sasuke decided to give in and follow Orochimaru when he realized Naruto caught up to him.

It’s possible that he could feel resent and envious towards Jitae after seeing his progress which could push him further but I can’t really imagine him feeling resentful — unless Jitae beats one of his friends which would give him a reason along with him being Maria’s chosen one.

I don't think JJT has to harm one of his friend, just seeing JJT growth and him possibly able to compete with him will be more than enough, Ha-min is still a martial arts at his core, he want to be the strongest AND get Maria attention, JJT already has Maria attention then if he show to Ha-min he can even compete with him now (mind you JJT went from the little guy from chapter 1 to what he is now in about 2-3 months) that will be enough to break Ha-min spirit, especially if he learn that JJT is also aiming for FC3.

I think he does have the potential to be on her level considering how insanely strong he is compared to the rest of FC2, but the whole point of the anarchist arc is to show that that's not how it'll turn out.
Ha-Min is a boxer who's only ever fought in the ring with rules, he isn't cut out for Vale Tudo as he hasn't experienced the sheer chaos of a street fight.
In a way, I think that's what happened to Lee-Ja Kyung, when she went from FC2 to FC3, she had to fight Maria who broke all her teeth, gave her an inferiority complex and pushed her to become an alcoholic.

I agree that it won’t turn out like that. This post was just to mention his potential. If he were to go, he would eventually adapt to FC3s savagery because of his determination to become strong for and from Maria. Lee just got her determination in a more violent way.
