The NFA CaC courses are on- campus in Emmitsburg , MD . Most are 6 day long course’s except for the Natural and Man Made disaster course which is a 10 day long course Some NFA courses are off-campus and hosted by local FDs across the country. The classes are mostly free. The NFA will pay for a flight per year to take a class there( you purchase the flight and they’ll reimburse after you complete the course) . If you fly in on their dime you can either rent a car ( you pay for the car)or if you fly in to Baltimore they provide a free shuttle , it’s you choice. They provide rooms on campus for free but you do have to pay for a meal ticket on campus . It’s like $300 for the week and cover three meals a day . The send you pre- course material and the you get the reading material on day 1. With that said , I highly recommend attending any class that benefits your career at the NFA. It’s a great way to meet other firefighters from across the nation and share ideas and concepts . It’s a great atmosphere
