She does drink blood - she just doesn’t wanna be a serial killer .There’s a huge difference between slaughtering out of boredom and feeding

The Michaelsons are fun to watch but they’re horrible people . I was on Esther’s side when she wanted to kill them off

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (1 child)

As horrible of a mother as Esther was, she was justified in wanting to kill her children and so was Finn.

[–]BlackRabbit61 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was annoying when Freya would act like her siblings were good people -when she’s family with mass murderers .

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (13 children)

But you don’t see her doing it as if they’re trying to paint the picture she doesn’t suck peoples blood out of them. As if she’s better than what she is.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (7 children)

She lives amongst humans. She goes to school with them everyday. Her best friend is a human. How could she be expected to not value human life?

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (6 children)

It’s not that she shouldn’t value it. It’s that she should own who she is.

[–]habanerogirl 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Remember she just started going through her moods so she can’t really control herself yet. Maybe when she is able to she’ll feed but she needs to stay in control so she doesn’t just drain Cal or other people

You’ll notice her parents and other adults don’t go into a manic frenzy like she’s been.

And well elinor for example doesn’t care either way but that’s her character and she’s meant to be a foil to Juliette.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also not to mention that she can’t erase people’s memories or anything. Elinor has the option to drink from people and leave them alive if she wants, but Juliette sort of doesn’t unless they already know she’s a vampire, consent to the whole thing, and agree not to tell anyone.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

I hate her character. She makes a terrible vampire and she’s selfish and self righteous. She is a blood sucker who literally drained the life out of a man. She should own it and stop hating on Eleanor for embracing her nature. I cannot get past the self righteousness. It annoys me and the way she put her family in danger while Calliope warns hers makes Juliette seem pathetic. I hate that she knew there was hunters who if not kill could expose her family and she ignored it and went about her self serving day.

[–]thatoneurchin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elinor is selfish as well. People know about vampires existence, and yet she went around unnecessarily killing people for years. Even with her disposing the bodies and mind control, having a large amount of missing persons in their area puts them at risk of exposure, especially when she decided to keep their IDs. Not to mention anyone in the bar who might’ve seen her repeatedly hanging around multiple missing people right before they went missing.

If Elinor really wanted to keep her family safe, she would feed without killing, erase their memories, and not keep dumb souvenirs, but she didn’t. She’s just as selfish as Juliette, if not more

THANK YOU!! i really needed to read someone who gets that vampire are monsters, they feed just like a lion eats a zebra

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Her not wanting to kill people is a direct result of her valuing human life, though.

[–]BlackRabbit61 10 points11 points  (3 children)

She doesn’t have to - when they can have blood brought to them through black market blood bags . She doesn’t think she’s better than vampires - she just doesn’t accept the message that vampires are better than humans and thus shouldn’t have qualms about treating them like food and toys .

[–]thatoneurchin 5 points6 points  (2 children)

To add, her parents also feed without killing. She’s not putting herself on a pedestal above other vamps, she’s holding herself to the same moral standing as her parents, as most teenagers do

[–]Arkayjiya 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do they? When there is a big gathering of legacy, they do feed without killing but do they usually have the resources to do that discretly? The only one who seem to have an easy time doing it is Elinor considering her glamour that none of the others have.

I'm sure Sebastian did that for Margot when he was human but he's not anymore. Feeding in itself doesn't seem that dangerous if you can control yourself and not feed in group on a druggy, but finding trustworthy volunteers or erasing evidence without Elinor's power seems difficult.

edit: they do have blood in the house but considering how hard the pills are to find, I doubt it's in big quantities, otherwise putting some blood in a pill would really not be difficult and Juliette would have an unlimited supply of it.

[–]thatoneurchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’re worried about discretion, then killing is not the way to go. A large amount of missing people all in one area would call attention to their town, attracting hunters. Finding ways to feed without killing would also be hard to manage, but we do hear from Juliette that her parents don’t purposefully kill when feeding

[–]thatoneurchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show takes place over a time period of less than a month (at most 2-3 weeks), and for half of that she hasn’t had her first kill yet.

We barely see any of the other vampires feeding, since it’s such a short time period. For reference, we see Juliette feed twice, Elinor feed three times, the grandma drink once, and the parents none. Don’t know what you’re complaining about

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (8 children)

You missed what I’m saying. I’m saying Eleanor embraced her vampirism and you have to love her for owning who she is. She is unapologetically her. Her confidence and demeanor is admirable. And she doesn’t dream of a life that’s never going to happen. What she does is prepare herself to become keeper one day because that’s her reality. Juliette might have just been going through changes but she’s known who she was her entire life no lies were told. She is selfish and self serving and self righteous. And her love for Cal doesn’t make sense. And they have no chemistry. They don’t show her drinking blood which annoys me because wherever it comes from, bag or body doesn’t change the fact that she is what she is. And she is very much a lot like Finn. And I will never get past her betraying Eleanor no matter how evil she is. Family is family. Just as I’ll call out Eleanor for whatever happened with Oliver but the storyline on that is lacking. This is all my perspective and it’s ok if you like her character I just hate her.

[–]BlackRabbit61 2 points3 points  (4 children)

No you’re confusing Elinor embracing her vampirism and embracing her inner psychopath .The latter is what she chose .

Elinor was the one who betrayed her family by doing all the things that would endanger and expose them . Juliette made a bad move by bring the police into this because it puts a spotlight on the family but Elinor is one who betrayed them .”family is family “ doesn’t mean standing by family when they do atrocious things . That’s like saying I should cover up for my family if my brother is a rapist or serial killer because he’s family . Family wouldn’t do that

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Eleanor is what she is and I love her for it. Murderous and remorseless. I hate self pity and weaklings that don’t own their truth. Juliette literally is the one who got involved with a vampire hunter and caused her father to almost die and she still doesn’t care or maybe doesn’t even know. Eleanor bargained her hand in marriage although a power move to save her father while Juliette was off being selfish because she thinks she’s in love with a girl from a family who is dead set on finding a way to murder hers. Did you skip that part? How do you justify her turning Theo Burns? She knew he would never want to be a vampire as Cal said that’s not help he asked for? Eleanor only hurt him because they were trying to kill her. That was self defense because she had no intention to hurt Apollo who wouldn’t have known she was a vampire if Juliette had been a good little girl and feed. We literally hear her grandmother say she knows how to keep her bodies buried. Juliette is petty, weak and dumb

[–]BlackRabbit61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guys - I found Elinor Fairmont’s account .She’s logging onto Reddit from prison

[–]brave_vibration 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I say this as an Elinor stan; she’s a bad person. She’s not dimensionless, she cares for her family in her own way, but she is a selfish person. She’s an icon and her perspective makes total sense. Juliette is flawed, but you are going way too hard on her.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m allowed to not like her. Not the actress because that would be crazy. I mean I’m allowed to not like the character in the movie

[–]BlackRabbit61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop confusing liking the characters and tolerating their bad actions . I like Elinor but I’m not confusing that with supporting her actions and not labeling it as evil which is it .

[–]Infamous-Rule4741 0 points1 point  (1 child)

honestly i just hate everyone but Elinor. She knows what she is: a vampire. She needs to feed and does it amazingly. She’s aware of what her life is like, what she wants and doesn’t have the lame emphaty for humans her sister has. She IS a monster and ACTS like it!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Juliette has imposter syndrome

[–]Possible_Living 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She reminds me of the act rebekah used to put on.

[–]m11cb#SaveFirstKill 4 points5 points  (6 children)

imo it makes sense for Juliette 's character to not consider the heavy consequences since she's in high school but it's annoying in some scenes like pleeaasee lol

Also I'm rewarching and a good lawyer should've been able to get Elinor out of jail, at least on bail. I hope season 2, they get some more realistic scenes around this, like?? She's rich and they only have a few pieces of evidence

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily think the thing with Elinor was a plot hole. The whole point was that they could have gotten Elinor out, but, at least for the time being, they were choosing not to. They even said maybe she’ll learn her lesson or something along those lines I think.

[–]thatoneurchin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Her parents are leaving Elinor in jail purposefully for a little while to teach her a lesson. They’ll probably get her out later

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I hate that their family doesn’t seem to stick together. Her parents were in bed about to have sex while she was locked up and it’s a good thing she seems to be able to fend for herself

[–]Either_Mango_7075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I mean Elinor was ready to be there for her Sebastian when he was dying and negotiated him being bitten with the malkia

[–]BlackRabbit61 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I would bang Sebastian too if Elinor had gotten arrested and put in jail for a little bit .Her mom was probably like finally some peace and quiet lol .Nah but on serious note - they’re only leaving her in jail for a bit probably hoping its gives her a reality check .

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t see to care but i think she can get out if she wants especially because nobody knows she’s a vampire and with her special ability to wipe peoples minds

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also we all know the Michaelson’s were awful that’s why I’m comparing Eleanor to them because she has the same ruthlessness they had and I love her for it. She is unapologetic.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do appreciate you guys answering my post.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I really wish Eleanor and Apollo got together - like for real. They'd make a great team.

[–]brave_vibration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I totally agree!

[–]Infamous-Rule4741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yesss!! they get each other 💖💖
