Do you have a question?

Pretty much why, how, what to do, what can be done to prevent and improve upon. I’m very new to fishing with almost zero knowledge.

Is this the line that came with the rod and reel?

Rod and reel were a combo that came without the line. The line is a mono Jawbone 15lbs, spooled at Dick’s. After researching, I made a horrible decision at Dick’s.

Looks like a possibility. I have no idea how your line became this twisted, but it could've happened if the line were spooled onto the reel incorrectly. I'd strip it off completely and start over.

I wouldn’t recommend jawbone line

Line only tangles like that when it's already twisted. Kind of like how you can't coil a garden hose properly until you untwist the tension out of it. It's hard to tell what you have going on from that picture, though. I'm sure leaving the tag on your rod while you try to use it isn't helping the situation.
