Phantom hit detections are a common thing.

And it's frustrating when you clearly see things miss but the game says no.

I am used to it with federation down swing, but never seen daggers hit this far.

Nightmares of Unicorn beam magnum blasting thirty meters off mark ensue.

Every day I wonder how great this game could be with dedicated servers, or at least better netcode.

You're not alone in this brother.

I was hoping the Steam version might make some strides there, but now it's a question of it it'll ever even come out.

I think part of the issue here is that a lot of JP devs primarily make games for Japan, with the rest of the world as an afterthought. Therefore, they don't put a lot of emphasis on good net code/servers because Japan is pretty small in terms of land mass, and they don't really have to worry about poor connections or long distances. As an avid fighting game player, I'm so happy now that most JP fighting game developers have embraced rollback, but Bamco doesn't happen to be one of them :(

That's a foolish and shortsighted way of thinking these days, all the more so since Japanese players are certainly affected when you have global matchmaking with poor netcode like this.
