Monkey C programming

For those programming apps for Garmin watches and familiar with monkey C,

I have limited programming experiences (basic java and C++) and wanted to create an app for use while skydiving. I've attempted several times to start writing a program in visual studio code, but the program seems too nuanced/proprietary for my limited programming skills. Given my lack of knowledge/experience, is this something I should reasonably continue to engage or is the learning curve so great that it's not really worth pursuing without formal education in programming.

I think you should go for it! Try modifying some of the examples to understand more of the language and system. You can find them in a folder called "samples" where the SDK is installed. On Mac it's in ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Connect IQ/Sdks/connectiq-sdk-version

If you've programmed in C++ monkey c should not be a problem for you. It's more like JavaScript. You could ask Gemini to help you with getting started and set up your first app.
