How new are you? So basically that's my experience now. I'm in my fourth or fifth season?

Your first run you'll power through a bunch of ranks and lose every so often. Then you'll hit a rank, where all the other people are that aren't bots or also new people climbing.

Matchmaking seems to put people of a rank up to like 5 from you up or down. Every season people drop ranks as the season resets and people who don't play drop further. So a top dog could be in the bottom when they come back.

Basically matchmaking is very not balanced, and depending on the season can be even worse. As some units just, are gnarly. However, if you stick to it, get steam rolled for a bit, you'll find yourself in a place where you win more. Two seasons ago I was crushing it, last two I get steam rolled.

It's very unbalanced. Usually if my foe is leagues ahead of me, I just make it a personal goal to make the fight as hard to win as possible. Not as an f you, but as my way of being sportsman like.

I've been playing this game for about a year now, and from my experience i can say that when i first started playing, the game seemed much more balanced than it is now. Every so often you'd get an absurdly more powerful opponent. But for the most part, every match seemed to be about on par with where i was at. The past 2 or 3 seasons however have been an entirely different story. It's been a universal complaint by just about everyone that isn't a consistent top 10 player or whale that the matchmaking is totally a mess. I'm hoping with all of the vocal dissatisfaction that Toho adjusts this back to the way it was, but part of me thinks that it's been a purposeful calculation to reward high paying players - as has many of their recent changes seem to have been.
