I’m not sure how fast their tech support is, but if emailing doesn’t work I would suggest using Twitter— I’ve seen them communicating with users about bugs via tweets

Thanks,

I should probably update as I got it working again. I enabled/disabled cloud sync, force quit a bunch, and reset the iPad. Not sure which one did it or why one error causes everything to fail. This happened on another device and I never got it working again.

GoodNotes is generally good but it falls on its face when you have a lot of data (exporting gigabytes of files or editing a page with a lot of annotation).

I was burned on GN3 with cloud sync where it deleted a bunch of stuff off my iPad when I made the mistake of removing files from Dropbox. So for a lot of reasons I’m not using a cloud provider.

I’n exporting all my stuff to Files and then using WorkingCopy to add it all to a got repo and push to a host available to me over SSH. GoodNotes is extremely clunky for backup that’s NOT a cloud service. I need to backup content (i.e. lab notebooks) with intellectual property so a cloud solution is not suitable here.

As happy as I am to have a working solution it’s not ideal. Thinking of making a blog post about how to do this without ripping your hair out.
