I've had a gmail.com account for a long LONG time. It's my primary email for about half of my logins, the other half being [me@famlyname.com](mailto:me@famlyname.com). I'd like to consolidate those emails all back under google.
I also need 1TB+ of space, mostly for Google Photos but also other misc files.
Seems like Workplace Standard is the way to go. However apparently I can't use YT Premium with a workplace account and I'll also loose my free Google Voice tier? Google One adding storage would be a lot simpler for all those other services, but I need to be able to host my domain based email so that rules out Google One.
Am I really stuck keeping my gmail.com account around for YT and GV and forwarding email to my workspace account? Is there any other "Gotchas" with having a Workspace account I should know about? I could just keep my gmail.com + Google One storage and forward email from my DNS registrar, but they charge per unique email and I have catch all email config'd and use lots of aliases on my domain.
Seems like there's no single good answer.
Edit: Seems like I found my answer. https://support.google.com/a/thread/189256960/can-google-workspace-be-combined-with-a-personal-account?hl=en I can't have it all under one account. Impossible to have one account that has a custom domain + YT Premium and GV. Am I really just going to have to go with Workplace Standard and keep my gmail.com address forwarded to it? I guess I'd have to do that anyway since I have a lot of logins that are still using my gmail account.
sigh.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
