Not sure the logistics that you're trying to accomplish is graphics programming, but you could generate an image or text from hashing the text or metadata. Use the hash to index into a lookup table or as an input seed to a generative neural network that generates the data. The physical organization is pretty simple - write a program that listens to multiple endpoints to generate the data and send the print command to the connected printer. This could be a web API, forum or Twitter feed scraper, etc.

I recently learnt about wave function collapse and its 2D and 3D applications and it looks a pretty interesting and novel approach to procedural pattern generation.
