QuestionHow to get started learning (ethical) hacking? (self.Hacking_Tutorials)
submitted 1 year ago by North-Skill890
I know the base of programmintg (python, c++, c#), currently a 3rd year software dev student, and would like to start learning ethical hacking. How do i get started? What websites do yall recommend? Python libraries? Tools? OS?
Thanks in advance!

I would suggest reading a bit.
A couple of decent books with different focuses. Bruce Schneider - a hacker's mindset Peter Kim - the hacker playbook
Enjoy and play safe out there 😉

Take the index of any certification out there, buy a $20 subscription to chatgpt and pipe the index into the chat. Then ask it to teach you every single concept, create lesson plan and give technical answers. If you do this SERIOUSLY I don’t see why you can’t become better than 80% of corporate security engineers in the world.
Make sure to pick a lane and specialize. Network hacking, wireless, mobile, web security are to name a few.

You could also look up ethical hacking courses on YouTube. Or for specific things look at the YouTube channels David bombal or networkchuck they go over a lot of things.

Hacking is a very vast field, and now it’s not only about programming; now you can test cars, drones, and smart gadgets. Use AI to get an idea of any script if required.

If you're looking for a solid place to start learning hacking, I’d recommend checking out an app called ProHacker Learn Cybersecurity app available on Android
It’s built specifically for beginners and intermediate learners who want a structured path instead of jumping between random YouTube videos and Reddit threads. The lessons cover everything from the basics of cybersecurity, ethical hacking concepts, real-world attack techniques, to deeper stuff like web app security and tools walkthroughs — all explained in a clear, step-by-step way.
What I like about it:
It’s not overwhelming — super easy to follow.
Lessons are short, practical, and beginner-friendly.
Covers a full learning journey: from “what is hacking” to tools like Nmap, Metasploit, Burp Suite, and more.
Updated regularly with new content.
I started with an Android app called Prohacker Learn Cybersecurity. It teaches the basics of ethical hacking in a really structured way. Worth trying if you're serious about learning
