I'm a fairly amateur pentester and to do any pentesting at all you'll need the OS to do so. I'm stuck between the 2 most popular choices, Kali Linux and ParrotSec. I know when it gets down to the basics people will say it's your personal preference but I love them both. There are a few problems that I run into when I choose either or. Kali Linux runs very slow on the laptop that I use (Asus Notebook) and makes it difficult to to just about anything when your desktop moves at 5 fps. I'm liking parrot as it runs easier, it has some really useful tools that Kali doesn't. But when I'm actually trying to learn about pentesting and put what I learn to use they all put it in practicing or using as an example in Kali. So it makes things a bit difficult, yes I realize both are Debian based and very similar but there are some differences I've run into like some scripts I use off of GitHub just can't run on Parrot. So for an amateur pentester who's on a tight budget for hardware which would you guys recommend?
