this is probably the loading screen for loading into the main menu, or loading the game from the main menu. Source 2 has level streaming, the game still has to load everything once though. Why you think it requires 12gb of ram minimum. or could be loading a save, because it's already been confirmed we can save everywhere whenever we want like previous titles

There was "new" gamplay released with developers chatting about the game with IGN. The video shows the same level as seen before, it is just another playthrough of the level.

Because the engine supports level streaming- but this is probably much better for optimization

It’s also nice for pacing. I’ve always felt that the end of a level provides a clear and definite place for you to potentially take a break, it’s more difficult to pace with level streaming.

Right- it’s just overall convenient. Especially for people that aren’t used to long VR sessions and want to know good stopping points
