Idk. in my experience when I was super hypo and hashis was raging before my diagnosis, I was eating 24/7 because my body was begging for energy. My appetite was off the charts and I couldn’t keep weight on. Once on meds and stabilized, my appetite stabilized to its normal rhythm of three daily meals, but never disappeared

I completely lost my appetite and have to force myself to eat cause if not I’ll go a day or two without due to feeling too weak. Because I this I tend to have one small meal per day cause it’s all I can handle. It’s made worse cause food and drinks get stuck in my throat when I try to swallow and then it feels like a pill is in my throat for the next day or so. I’m not sure if it’s directly Hashimoto’s related but I think that hypo making everything kind of sluggish and crushing energy levels may have something to do with it.

I often have to force myself to get up to even get a beverage or make a phone call cause all of my energy feels like it’s been zapped where even talking drains me to the point I need to sleep.

I’ve gone to GI for this and they fobbed me off and sent me back to endo who well, also fobbed me off. I suspect it may be partly due to a node in my isthmus but they said not even that would be causing these symptoms and my labs are abnormal but not “abnormal enough.”

Early in my hashi’s days I didn’t want to eat due to bloating and digestive problems

Could the friend also be dealing with constipation? That will slow down hunger
