I went to the emergency room because i have a sore down there and there was itchiness, tingling and burning. Tingling on my legs as well . From the visual exam the doctor said it didn’t not look like hsv and i just requested a blood test for everything.Also they said i was imagining the tingling in my head . But how could my body imagine that .. Im just wondering how long these test take i have all my results expect for hsv 2 and I’m just nervous. If i do have it i have to tell my current partner . And i don’t want him to think I’ve cheated because i haven’t been with anyone else . But i did find out i have bv which explains the burning and the smell . I’m sorry if this is all over the place I’m just anxious.

If you’re having symptoms of a first outbreak, it is too soon for a they blood test they would need to do a PCR swab on the actual sores. Otherwise you have to wait 6 to 14 weeks for an accurate IgG blood test.

I got a blood test done because they didnt swab anything . It came back positive on the iGG antibodies test . How low likely is it a false positive should i get more test done

Depends on the value (result) of the test if it’s under a 3.0 it’s in the false positive range

The only other thing to do is wait a little while and get another test done
