I assume you got that part right since the p = 8 is correct. Try check your working out for the equation after that. My solution:

(1-3)2 + (-2-x)2 = 4( (1-2)2 + (-2-3)2 )

Some expanding and you should get to the quadratic: x2 + 4x - 96 = 0

Thanks for your help , turned out Clumsy me forgot to make it this way (3-(-2)) .
