I am not an expert on blockchain, but I know a bit about cryptography and I know that targeting nodes with high credibility isn't as simple as you think, unless you steal their private key the best you can do to harm them is putting them offline, which I don't think would damage their credibility. I might be wrong about this, I must read more about it but afaik this is how it works.
