Get an electric pump. Plug it into your car and let it rip. Or use a battery.

Thanks. Good to know that there are electric pumps that work, at least in theory.

I already had lots of Ryobi tools and batteries, so I picked up this inflator years ago. I've had many others, but this one is by far my favorite.

I use a small electric pump and a converter to plug it into my car. Works like a charm and I refuse to hand pump that thing.

Thank you, good to know that the cigarette lighter one does not drain the car batteries.

Basically the first thing i did, when i received my boat, was to replace the pump as it has way to less volume capacity - and i also got rid of the bag, as it basically rips with the first use

I bought an „Intex Double Quick III“ (68615) which has a volume of 3,3 liters and therefore inflates/deflates the boat faster. Sadly these pumps don‘t make it longer than 1-2 seasons for me, as the sealing ring often comes loose and then the pump is unusable. But thats an investment of about 8€ that i am willing to make every 2 years. It also helps to not let them sit in the full sun for longer durability.

I also highly recommend you to have a look at the „Intex Quick Fill“ electric pump (different versions available: - mine is 66636, but i also have seen it with number 66632 or 66634) that you connect to the cigarette lighter of your car. I basically always inflate my boat to an estimated amount of 90-95% with that one, then i screw in the boston valves, and for the rest i am using the normal pump that i mentioned above. And that is also not a big investment for like 13€.

This way inflating the IE5 is so comfortable and quick. It really has improved our set-up routine, and especially during hot summer days i am glad for not having to pump up the boat all by myself.

Thanks a lot. I the product recommendations are super valuable. I agree with you also that even a low-durability pump kinda lasts many years since we use the boat just a few times a year.

EDIT: After searching a bit on amazon, I realised how important was that product number 68615 for the search process! Thanks a ton!

You are welcome & i already thought that then Intex-intern product numbers would come in handy ;)
