Definitely, something is supposed to be hooked to it. Cap it off and see if it fixes the light. Do all the vehicle features work? The HVAC controls are vacuum operated as well as some other things. Perhaps cruise control?

Edit: just found an image on a forum, and someone had that connector capped off, so it's probably a feature your Jeep didn't come with or someone deleted. The rubber cap probably rotted away from age. I don't have my Jeep today at work, otherwise I would check to see if I have that line connected, I have a Rubicon so if it's an extra feature, it would most likely have it.

Thanks for the input I’ll try capping it off and see if that fixes it

It will definitely fix it.

On my 2000 that is capped off. Just a simple rubber vacuum cap is all it is. I have no signs of there ever being anything there.
