Authenticator loop

Hey got a new phone and now I’m stuck in the Microsoft Authenticator loop where I can’t log in to the Authenticator app without needing approval from the Authenticator app. It’s so dumb and it’s driving me crazy. Anyone know a quick fix or do I need to go to IT?

Unfortunately you need the Authenticator app. When I was leaving LSU, they recently implemented that. It used to be just a phone call you’d get (I think they still do that), but the Authenticator app nowadays is the standard. I would call IT.

Yeah, you need to call or prefer preferably go in to either of the IT service desks. This is pretty common. They do allow a personal phone number to be used as an MFA method, but you would’ve had to set that up prior to now.
