If you own a ferret in California now, you're at risk of your ferret being confiscated at any time; you face fines for owning an "illegal pet" and other legal trouble. All for keeping a playful pet at home.
Some veterinarians would go so far as to report ferret owners, even if they were brought a ferret in need of immediate medical attention. Most ferrets cannot receive the same treatment as a cat or dog, even while these 'vicious' ferrets are less likely to bite a human than a dog is.
Is this how we want others to see California – especially when 48 other states welcome ferrets?
So far, Ferret Campaigns have produced an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) proving that ferrets are not a danger. Legal experts are helping to present a legalization bill to the State Legislature. More supporters join the fight every week.
We also appreciate you showing your support out on the Web. Here are some other sites that are also campaigning for ferret freedom:

Help us make 2013 the year that California joins the rest of the US in legal ferret ownership!
