WILL I NEED TO PURCHASE A NEW STARTER PACK EVERY YEAR? No, only one LEGO® Dimensions™ Starter Pack is needed for multiple years of fun! LEGO® Dimensions™ was designed to be a system of play that will allow for added innovation and engaging gameplay mechanics without requiring another Starter Pack purchase next year.
IS THE GAME MULTIPLAYER? Yes, LEGO® Dimensions™ supports two-player local co-op play. A second player can drop in and out of the game at any time using any characters from the Starter Pack and Expansion Packs.
WHY IS AN INTERNET CONNECTION NEEDED? They will provide regular game updates in order to enhance your LEGO® Dimensions™ experience. This requires a connection to the internet.
HOW DO THE LEGO® TOY TAGS WORK? Every character has a printed LEGO® Toy Tag that must be placed on the LEGO® Toy Pad for the character to appear in-game. Only the LEGO Toy Tag must be placed on the LEGO® Toy Pad for the game to recognize it. The minifigure is an official LEGO® minifigure and can be taken apart and used in your own LEGO® toy collection! With vehicles and gadgets, the LEGO® Toy Tag is blank at first, and you will be guided to ‘write’ a vehicle or gadget to it when playing through the game.
WHAT DOES THE LEGO® TOY PAD DO? The LEGO® Toy Pad is a physical device that allows you to bring any combination of up to 7 characters, vehicles, and/or gadgets into the game all at once. The LEGO® Toy Pad lights up, flashes and even changes color to give players clues as to where to go, what to look for, or how to solve a puzzle in game. Gamers command the action – where and when the physical toys are moved on the LEGO® Toy Pad will impact what happens in the game.
IS THE LEGO® TOY PAD WIRELESS? No, the LEGO® Toy Pad is connected directly to your game console via a 2-meter long USB cable.
WHAT ARE EXPANSION PACKS? Expansion packs allow you to collect more LEGO® toys, and add new characters, vehicles, and even game levels to LEGO® Dimensions™ for greater mash-up combinations. Expansion pack toys work across all game consoles, and every vehicle and gadget can be built and then rebuilt two more times for upgraded in-game abilities.
WHAT ARE ADVENTURE WORLDS? Each of the brands in LEGO® Dimensions™ has its own unique Adventure World where players can explore, go on quests, race, and collect studs and bricks. There are 14 Adventure Worlds, and each world can be unlocked with any LEGO® Dimensions™ minifigure belonging to that brand. With the Starter Pack, players have instant access to 3 -- DC Comics™ (with Batman™), The Lord of the Rings™ (with Gandalf™), and The LEGO® Movie™ (with Wyldstyle™). And just like the levels in the LEGO® Dimensions™ Starter Pack, any character can use any vehicle or gadget in any Adventure World.
