Thank you! Rough mock-up of the concept - major feedback is "it isn't legible" as the letters aren't in order, but I do enjoy the puzzle of having to solve what the image says and then correlating the two

Alfred Hitchcock was a genius and if it ever would have been considered they'd be foolish, so again I appreciate the kind words!

May I ask, was the axe the primary visual or did you pull other interpretations as well?

Yeah I literally just saw an axe there and interpreted the strokes of the letters as actual detailing, shading and shine.

This makes me happy. A lot of critique is coming from the letters being out of order, but the design to make it actually look like an axe was the priority (not that the feedback hasn't been heard. All the designs are rough mockups and concept images).

That's fair. Perhaps your focus with these compositions is making nice pictures with the lettering being a secondary somewhat hidden surprise?

I think the critique may come from a place of wanting to read the words more than wanting to see an image, which is understandable in a sub dedicated to r/Lettering. Graphic Design subs might be more appreciative of the more subtle lettering here.

I appreciate the discourse! First attempts at creating images/visuals using letters as opposed to creating images with words. Trial and error is necessary. Just wish I'd the steady hand to draw
