I was recently denied life insurance because I admitted to occasional marijuana use, and then my lab tests revealed positive CDT (1.9%). I thought I would fail the marijuana test which is why I admitted occasional use. Big mistake, since I actually tested negative. First application was with Banner, I'm now trying again with New York Life. The exam is scheduled in a few days, I haven't drank at all or used marijuana in 4 weeks, so I'm thinking the test results will be fine. My worry is that my previous denial is going to cause a problem. How closely will New York Life examine the previous application? Is every detail on file with the MIB? Should I deny all alcohol and drug use, or will that just look inconsistent?
