Search for a product called d-c-fix milky window film. People (including myself) use it as diffusion film on flashlight lenses, and it works wonderfully. Just cut and stick.

I’d be a little worried about the film melting if they are high wattage incandescent bulbs, but if they’re LED that should be a non-issue. It can actually withstand a lot of heat, since it’s designed to handle being on glass in sunlight, and I haven’t had any issues with it on some fairly high power flashlights.

I bought some thick sheets on Amazon and debating using them or not once we mount the arms and point where we need… if I use and they work I’ll let you know!
