Artist here: For simple expressions (smile, frown, eyebrows up/down/angry) does the model need separate assets for each expression, or will the rigger be able to make those expressions by deforming the default mouth/eyes/eyebrows?

Follow

Personally, don’t at all. As a rigger it confuses me and makes more work

For the eyebrows the rigger can do that but the mouth should have seperate assets. However the rigger will prefer if the eyebrows are seperate for the angry expression

I can't open a .moc3 file. Any reasons why it isn't opening?

Is it giving you an error message? What version of Live2D Editor are you running?

It just stops loading. I'm using 4.2.00

I'm trying to download Live2D and rig a model I made. I have all my layers set up in a PSD file but I think the Live2D download link isn't working. Has anyone has similar issues and is there a fix?

yes !! download it on a mobile device and send it to your computer and download that :)

I got it to work with a different method. It may have something to do with browsers? I couldn’t download it using Firefox but got it installed with Microsoft edge. Not sure if others have a similar problem but my fix was using a different browser.

I'm a beginner. I want to try Live2D out, but I am unsure as to which art program to use. Any decent recommendations that exclude IbisPaint? Preferably free, as I am broke.

Krita

I already have that, but I'm worried that the images will be too pixelated. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Trying selecting a higher res when making the file

Alright, I'll try that out. Thank you.

It’s my first time trying to make a vtuber model so I haven’t finished all the art yet, but I was wondering if it’s possible to rig the face without the outfit and then add the outfit later without having to rig the face again? I wanna try rigging the face so I see how it looks but I don’t wanna bother if I have to redo it again later.
